As reported on my site earlier this week, former United States and Tag Team Champion M.V.P has been released from his contract by WWE. He confirmed on his Twitter account (@The305MVP) that he had not been fired, but had actually requested and subsequently granted his release from the company.

“No need for alarm. I did not get fired. I asked for & received my release. I felt it was time to go international & freshen things up.”

In follow up to novemembers news that former ECW announcer Joey Styles contract with WWE was due to expire, Styles himself has confirmed on his Twitter account (@JoeyStyles) that he was only referring to his 5 year announcer contract but that he will be remaining in his current role as a member of the WWE.com team.

Although not yet officially confirmed, it has been reported that local adverts for the TLC PPV are advertising The Miz as defending his newly captured WWE Championship against previous holder Randy Orton. Orton himself was not on Raw this week as he was receiving an MRI scan on an injury.

Following an interview on WWE.com with former WWE and WCW Superstar Lex Luger, it has been rumoured that Luger could potentially be amongst those to be inducted into the 2011 Hall of Fame.
